# Resume a case

> Lifts the pause and starts what became runnable while the case was paused.

Lifts the pause and starts what became runnable while the case was paused. A case that is not paused is `409 PLAYBOOK_CASE_NOT_PAUSED`; one in a paused project is `409 PROJECT_PAUSED` and stays paused until the project resumes.
